Protective dental sealants are such a simple, affordable, painless way to prevent cavities. As soon your child’s first grown-up chompers make their big debut, it’s highly recommended that we seal them. We paint a BPA-free, thin plastic coating onto the chewing surfaces of the teeth – usually the premolars and molars. The coating forms a protective layer over the teeth to keep food particles, bacteria and acids from worming their way into the grooves and causing decay.
Benefits of Protective Dental Sealants
Force Fields for the Teeth
A lot of kids have a sweet tooth and some aren’t the biggest fans of brushing and flossing, which can be a problem, especially between ages six and 12 when they’re particularly cavity-prone. Sealants to the rescue! At your child’s exam, once we determine the time is right, we can apply sealants. In order to keep your little one healthy and safe, our sealants are made from BPA-free materials. The process takes less than 15 minutes and involves cleaning the teeth to make sure there are no bits of food or bacteria waiting in the wings. We dry the teeth, use a little solution to ensure the sealing material will stick and then paint on the sealant. When it’s dry, your child will be good to go!
